THE SHARK CAGE ®
Foundational Practitioner Training

In this self-paced online training, you will learn about the trauma informed 5 Step Shark Cage® Framework. The Framework has been used widely and successfully with women in group and individual settings for over 15 years. The course will take approximately 8 hours to complete and is equivalent to the live Foundational Shark Cage training. You will have full access to the course for three months from enrollment.  There are short knowledge quizzes to complete after each section which will consolidate your learning as you move through the course.

The course is designed for counsellors, social workers, psychologists, family support workers, family violence and youth practitioners who want evidence-informed strategies they can apply immediately in individual or group work.
Meet the instructor

Ursula Benstead

Ursula Benstead is an Australian psychologist, clinical supervisor, trainer and the creator of The Shark Cage® trauma-informed framework with over 30 years of experience in the fields of complex trauma, family violence and sexual assault.

She has spoken, written and trained widely both in Australia and internationally and has provided Shark Cage training to thousands of helping professionals so they can better support girls and women in their work. Ursula is passionate about human rights and social justice and brings her deep experience and practical insights into every training session. She looks forward to sharing her evidence-informed, strengths-focused approach with course participants to strengthen their confidence and capacity to use The Shark Cage Framework with clients.
